Jon Rekedal, Associate at SteadWise Wealth Advisors, comes from a long line of investors. When a lot of kids were playing with LEGO, Jon was helping his dad with the Morningstar floppy disks and learning about market fundamentals. Jon’s own investing career began at age 13, establishing a holding in tech and telecoms that remains core to his portfolio today. At the University of Rochester, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts with honors in History, Jon met Rob Martino. The two immediately became friends, sharing an interest in business, marketing, and sales.
After graduation, Jon worked at The New York Times, rising to become the youngest Managing Director in an advertising department that earned nearly a billion dollars a year. Jon led a global advertising sales team specializing in the oil and gas industry, healthcare, and consumer packaged goods, leading to his deep knowledge of those industries. During that time, Jon partnered with Rob to actively manage his own investments.
With a young family and a move to Westchester, Jon has worked at Community Synagogue of Rye since 2016 and coached softball for over a decade. As his family grew and it was time for a new challenge, Jon made the move to join his long-time investing partner and become part of the team at Steadwise Wealth Advisors.
Applying his knowledge, Jon passed the SIE, the Series 7, and the Series 66 exams and is also a licensed NY State Insurance Agent for Life, Health, and Travel insurance. “Coming to Steadwise feels like coming home,” Jon recently noted, as his original interests, lifelong friend, and core expertise are now all aligned in the service of clients. Jon deeply values continuing education and appreciates that there is no longer a need for boxes of floppy disks. Along with family time, he also loves bluegrass music and the Buffalo Bills.
